Flying a Drone

Drone

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) / Small Unmanned Aircraft (SUA)
Depending on the aerodynamic flight principle, UAVs can be categorized into fixed-wing and multirotor drones.

Unmanned aircraft system includes adding a ground-based controller and a system of communications with the UAV.

The flight of UAVs may operate under remote control by a human operator, or with various degrees of autonomy, such as autopilot assistance, up to fully autonomous aircraft that have no provision for human intervention

What is FPV

FPV (First Person View)

“FPV” does not describe the aircraft — it describes the method.  Piloting the drone via low-latency video feed in real time as opposed to flying via LOS (Line of sight).  This offers an immersive drone flying experience with ultimate precision - similar to sitting in the cockpit of the aircraft.

Line Of Sight (LOS)

Piloting the drone by watching the drone from the ground, without the use of FPV goggles or video feeds.

Monitor / Smartphone

Using the video feed from the drone, usually displayed on your smartphone.  This allows the pilot to easily switch between LOS and FPV.

Goggle

Video feed displayed on the screens inside the goggles.  Full Immersion.
